Metaphysical meaning of Paseah (mbd)
Paseah (in A.V., Nehemiah 7:51, Phaseah), pa-se'-ah (Heb.)--leaping over; passing over; sparing; delivering; halting; pausing; hesitating; limping; lame.

a Son of Eshton, of the tribe of Judah (I Chron. 4:12). b Father of Joiada, who helped to rebuild Jerusalem's wall (Neh. 3:6).

Meta. Paseah (passing over, sparing, delivering) signifies thoughts of a freeing, overcoming character. We see also in this word a tendency to hesitate between two opinions, and to jump to conclusions, to decide matters without properly considering the details involved (halting, pausing, hesitating, leaping over). Thus a truer understanding is needed (limping, lame, bespeak a defect in that phase of the understanding which contacts outer conditions). The inner understanding and ideals of the individual who is in the Paseah consciousness must be made more practical; they must be used daily in thought, word, and deed for meeting and adjusting outer conditions and affairs.
