Maath, ma'-ath (Gk. fr. Heb.)--smooth; naked; polished; sharpened; removed; scraped off; scrap; small; little; few.

Son of Mattathias, in the genealogy of Jesus Christ (Luke 3:26).

Meta. A refining process (smooth, polished, sharpened) in consciousness, by which seeming error, the personal and carnal in the individual, is removed, (scraped off) and becomes very small, very insignificant.
