Metaphysical meaning of Jabin (mbd)
Jabin, ja'-bin (Heb.)--perceiving; discerning; observing; intelligent; knowing; analysis; understanding.
A Canaanitish king, of Hazor (Josh. 11:1; Judg. 4:2-24). There were evidently two kings of Canaan by this name, since the one mentioned in the first text given was overthrown and killed by Joshua (see verses 1O-12 of Josh. 11).

Meta. A discernment and intelligence inherent in the elemental life forces of the organism (Canaanites). But in Jabin this intelligence is not subject to spiritual thought; it is centered in and activated by the "mind of the flesh." It takes Barak (the fiery executive of an active will), in cooperation with Deborah (a fine spiritual sense of discrimination), with ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun (strength and order) to defeat Sisera, captain of the hosts of Jabin, king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor.
