Metaphysical meaning of Dedan (mbd)
Dedan, de'-dan (Heb.)--mutual attraction; selective affinity; physical love; low.

a A descendant of Cush, who was a son of Ham and grandson of Noah (Gen. 10:7). b A son of Jokshan, a son of Abraham by Keturah (I Chron. 1:32). The descendants of these two men named Dedan are supposed to have been Arabian or Idumean tribes. The overthrow of Dedan is prophesied by both Jeremiah and Ezekiel (Jer. 25:23; Ezek. 25:13).

Meta. Dedan (mutual attraction, selective affinity, physical love, low) refers to a phase of physical or animal attraction and affection. This must give way to true love, which is spiritual in its character and is unselfish and pure.
