  • 1884: Waldo Rickert Fillmore is born; died 1965
  • 1886: Myrtle's healing begins
  • April, 1889: First issue of Modern Thought marks the official beginning of the Unity movement
  • 1889: John Royal Fillmore is born; died 1923
  • 1890: Society of Silent Help begins
  • 1891: The name Unity is chosen for the movement
  • December 7, 1892: Date of the Fillmore Covenant
  • 1893: Wee Wisdom begins publication
  • 1894: First installment of Lessons In Truth appears in Unity Magazine

1900-1910

  • 1903: The Unity Society for Practical Christianity is incorporated for scientific and educational purposes
  • 1905: Unity Inn opens. The Fillmores become vegetarians
  • August 31, 1906: first Unity ministers ordained; Charles and Myrtle Fillmore along with seven others
  • 1906: Cornerstone in place for 913 Tracy Ave.
  • 1907: A telephone is installed at Unity headquarters, and the Telephone Prayer Ministry begins
  • 1909: Weekly Unity begins publication
  • 1909: Lowell Fillmore inaugurates the Prosperity Bank

1911-1920

  • 1910: Construction begins on 917 Tracy Ave.
  • 1914: Unity School of Christianity is incorporated
  • 1919 -1920-- First 58 acres of land purchased near Lee's Summit, MO

1921-1930

  • 1922: First Unity radio talk on WOQ, Kansas City
  • 1924: Unity purchases WOQ and owns the station until 1934
  • July, 1924: Unity Daily Word begins publication
  • 1928: First meeting of Unity leaders held at Unity Farm
  • 1929: Tower and Silent Unity buildings at Unity Farm were completed and occupied

1931-1940

  • October 6, 1931: Myrtle Fillmore's transition
  • 1934: Unity Ministers' Association organized
  • 1934: WOQ discontinued
  • 1939: Unity's Golden Anniversary
  • 1939: Unity Daily Word becomes Daily Word

1941-1950

  • 1940: Construction recommences at Unity Farm
  • 1947: Printing Department moves to Unity Farm
  • July 5, 1948: Charles Fillmore's transition
  • 1949: Administration Building at Unity Farm completed

1951-1960

  • 1952: Wee Wisdom School opens at Unity Farm. Continues until 1982
  • April 13, 1953: Unity Farm is incorporated as Unity Village
  • 1956: Unity's first television program

1961-1970

  • 1966-- Department of World Unity begins to serve ministries outside the United States
  • 1965: First class enters AUC's School of Ministerial and Religious Studies
  • 1969: "The Word" begins broadcasting on radio and television. Continues until 1992

1971-1980

  • 1972: Weekly Unity ceases publication
  • 1972: Correspondence School is discontinued
  • 1975: Activities Center and Unity Inn dedicated

1981-1990

  • 1983: First Ministerial Class enters Unity School for Religious Studies
  • 1988: New Silent Unity building completed
  • 1988: Unity School moves to four day work week

1991-2000

  • 1994: Silent Unity satellite ministries established in other countries
  • 1994: first World Day of Prayer
  • 1995: First Unity World Conference in Birmingham, UK
  • 1996: Unity Rose Garden accredited by All-American Rose Selections
  • 1996: Unity's first web page at www.unityworldhq.org

2001 -

  • 2001 Tom Zender succeeds Connie Fillmore as president of Unity School
  • 2002 Unity's Board of Directors restructured. No longer are board members vice-presidents of Unity School
  • 2003: Unity Institute begins operation
  • 2003 (might be 2002) Unity's first online class, The Creative Process in the Bible
